Have you ever posted a past photo of yourself that was thinner or more athletic or dressed better or whatever? I have done it a lot of times. I thought I was inspiring myself with comments like "that girl had her crap together and this girl is working hard to get back to being her..."

Journeys are Rarely Linear
Once upon a time, I was a girl who started a journey to weight loss. I thought once I started losing weight, the scale would only ever go down. Oh what a naive girl I was....

Fall Down 99 Times, Get Up 100
It's not a new thing for fitness or healthy living advocates to remind us that no matter how many times you stumble, you're not a failure unless you don't get back up. So, you may wonder why I feel the need to revisit this issue? But really can we encourage each other too much? Can we remind each other to never give up too many times? I really don't think so! I also think that every time I read a personal story of pressing on through the stumbles and the falls, I feel more encouraged in my own journey. So, here is my personal story of recovering from a stumble.

Let's Get Healthy Together!
Melissa and I have been a part of monthly weight loss challenges for a year now. We have seen some great successes and we have both had failures. We have both fallen off the wagon and we have both educated ourselves and learned to lose weight the right way, eating right and working out.
Since the weight loss challenges have ended, Melissa and I have created our own group on Facebook to help support, motivate, inspire and educate anyone looking to lead a healthy life.
If you're on a journey to healthy living, feel free to join us here!
We wish you health and happiness!

The Secret to Weight Loss (Part 2)
Check out Part 1 here!
There are several things you need in order to lose weight. Part 2 will touch on the two that I consider the most important: dedication and education.
Anyone can want to lose weight. Anyone can feel fluffy, fat, overweight, chunky, etc. Anyone can lose weight. I truly believe that. I do not believe anyone NEEDS weight loss surgery, to take diet pills, to do anything extreme in order to lose weight. (*disclaimer - I do not judge those that do have surgeries, take pills, etc.)

Why are we so attracted to gimmicks?
Have you ever noticed how many gimmicks there are in life? Get rich quick. Lose weight fast. Just two of the biggest areas in life that are filled with gimmicks. Why? Two areas that most of us are not happy with are our weight/body shape and our finances. Companies play on the fact that most of us what our desires NOW. We don't want to wait, we live in a "now" world.

(hashtag) I'm a Runner Ya'll
I was in the hospital a couple weeks ago. I had a surgery, blah blah blah. Maybe one day I'll post about what really happened, but for now, just believe what you've been told (wink wink!)
This photo screams "share on a public site" doesn't it?! ;)

An Uphill Battle
I've been overweight most of my life. I've struggled with my weight as long as I can remember. As I've shared before, I let my struggle become an obsession which led to some dangerous and unhealthy addictions. Confessions of Former Addict: The Scale No Longer Defines Me

Confessions of a Former Addict: The Scale No Longer Defines Me
How much do you obsess about the number on the scale? Does it consume your every thought? Does every bite of food make you wonder if it's the reason you're not losing enough weight? Do you skip meals or limit calories to crazy-low amounts? Have you considered or acted upon skipping all meals for days, throwing up after you "cheat" or taken laxatives to lose weight?
